Research shows that first impressions are formed within 17 seconds of meeting someone. 17 Seconds lets you engage in 17-second​ live video dates with people around you. That’s just enough time to see if there’s chemistry, but not so much time that you feel trapped if there isn’t.

So how does it work?

17 Seconds is a "real-time" dating experience. You do not schedule dates to happen at a future time. Everyone visible on the map is active at that moment.

Each time you open the app, you select where you would like to be displayed on the map (within a mile of your true location). Later, when youre done dating and leave the app (either by logging out or pressing the home button) you are immediately removed from the map.

You request dates by viewing other members profiles (tapping their profile image on the map) and tapping the blue video chat button.

People requesting dates with you are displayed as cubes falling down from the top of the screen.

So just be yourself and have fun! After a live date, if you and the other person opt to stay-in-touch, you can chat inside of 17 Seconds.

All members are rated based on the quality of their dates.
